John Pang, M.D.
Dr. Pang is a rising head and neck surgeon training in oncologic and reconstructive surgery while advancing the field through research, education, and patient advocacy. He attended medical school at Johns Hopkins University where he discovered a passion for treating patients with head and neck cancer. He subsequently matched into otolaryngology residency at the University of California-San Diego where his interests expanded to include optimizing quality of life through the reconstruction of complex head and neck defects, transoral robotic surgery, and health policy.

My clinical interests include head and neck oncology, reconstructive surgery, and transoral robotic surgery.
I study the genomic signatures of HPV-related oropharynx cancers to better understand viral oncogenesis. My research interests also focus on oncology quality metrics to make cancer care better and more affordable for patients.
