Dr. Feeney started his career in audiology as a clinician in several private practice and hospital settings before returning to school for the Ph.D. to pursue his interest in research. He joined the UW Oto faculty from 1986-2011 during which time he served as chief of audiology and head of the Human Auditory Perception lab at the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center.  

Dr. Feeney was president of the American Academy of Audiology. His recent research involves the evaluation of peripheral auditory function, with a focus in the area of middle-ear and cochlear assessment and diagnosis.
