Robert Dobie, M.D.

Dr. Dobie received his M.D. from Stanford School of Medicine. He completed a research fellowship in auditory physiology at the Kresge Hearing Research Laboratory in New Orleans and a clinical fellowship in Otoneurosurgery at the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland.
Dr. Dobie was on the UW Oto faculty from 1975-1990, during which time he served as director of the Virginia Bloedell Hearing Research Center, director of the otolaryngology clinic at UW Medical Center, director of the resident teaching program, and director of the Vestibular Function Laboratory.
He subsequently became professor and chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, where he served from 1990-1999. Among other honors over his career, Dr. Dobie received a Presidential Citation from the Triological Society, the Distinguished Service Award from AAO-HNS, and was the 4th recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Hearing Conservation Association.
