"I was born and raised in Seattle, and I am honored to serve the community where I grew up. I am dedicated to providing patient-centered care and genuinely want what is best for my patients. I have always had a commitment to excellence and prioritize leading by example. I find it rewarding to work alongside experts in their respective subspecialties, and thrive in academic medicine, which combines clinical care, education, and research. To complement my clinical work and time spent with the collaborative UW OTO team, my research focuses on shared medical decision-making, which aims to ensure clinical decisions incorporate and reflect patient preferences and evidence-based medicine, thereby promoting patient empowerment, improving transparency, and increasing trust."

RESEARCH FOCUS

I have a keen interest in shared decision-making, as it impacts patient satisfaction, disease management, and clinical outcomes. Through support from the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Foundation CORE Resident Research Grant, I have ongoing qualitative and quantitative research projects to assess decision-making among patients with obstructive sleep apnea who are considering sleep surgery. Additionally, this work can also be applied in other subspecialties within otolaryngology, where quality of life and patient preferences play a major role. In the future, I aim to become a leader in clinical epidemiology and outcomes-based research as an independent physician-scientist investigator.
