Edwin M. Monsell, MD, PhD

CLINICAL PROFESSOR

I am blessed to have a long and continuing career as a physician, surgeon, researcher, teacher, leader, and administrator in my chosen field. Currently I am focused on providing ambulatory care and teaching residents. I strive to do my best in service to our patients and all whom we serve. It is a privilege to do this work, and to be a part of a great group of people at one of our top academic health centers and universities.

Biography

Dr. Monsell joined the faculty of the University of Washington as a clinical professor of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery in 2022, specializing in diseases of the ear and related structures. Previously, he was a professor of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he practiced and conducted research related to hearing loss.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Monsell’s clinical focus at the University of Washington is diseases of the ear and temporal bone.  This includes evaluation and management of problems of hearing loss and balance.
